Itinerary

While out in the bay looking at the whales, you might not fully understand how amazingly big these animals are.

On this combo tour the admission to Whales of Iceland is included in your Whale Watching ticket so before or after your tour we recommend visiting the Whales of Iceland exhibition.  The Whales of Iceland exhibition showcases 23 life-size whale models with a lot of in-depth information, interactive experiences and underwater footage of whales shown on an 8-meter long screen. A part of the exhibition focuses on conservation where the multiple threats (and their solutions) that whales face in the ocean today are showcased. The exhibition really gives you a feeling of how small humans are compared to ocean wildlife.

On the Whale Watching tour, you will check-in at our partner’s ticket office at the Old Reykjavik harbor before we sail out to Faxaflói bay where we search for the common whales in the area, such as Humpback whales, Minke whales, White-beaked dolphins, and Harbour porpoises. During the tour, we can get a feeling of their behavior in the wild, while learning more about them from one of our expert guides. The focus of the tour is on the wildlife in the bay, unique experiences and personal service while making sure the environment is protected and respected in every way possible. In case of no sightings on our tours, you are entitled to a ticket to try again for free.

This is the perfect whale watching combo tour, offering you a big experience of whales from both land and sea!

If the timing changes, we will need your valid mobile phone number to contact you and inform you of the time change. Please don’t forget to fill out your phone number on the booking form. The tour is dependent on weather and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Weather and sea conditions can be unpredictable during the winter months. We can never guarantee sightings on our tours, but in case of no sightings we do offer a FREE ticket to try again!

Sometimes in the winter we might sail from other harbors south of Reykjavik for better sea conditions, in which case we provide transport for all our passengers to and from Reykjavik. In this case, the tour might be slightly longer due to the extra drive.
