This adventure tour will allow you to see the Reynisfjara black sand beach and other parts of the South Coast from above while satisfying your need for adventure.
Your paragliding instructor will be waiting for you in the village of Vík, on the South Coast of Iceland. You’ll then go to a nearby take-off location for safety training. You won’t have to jump off a cliff and your copilot for the flight will be an experienced tandem pilot who will ensure your safety throughout while guiding you through the whole process. This adventure doesn’t require any previous experience or training and is suitable for everyone over the age of 12.
After inflating the paraglider and completing all of the safety checks, you’ll step into the air. It is as easy as taking a few steps down a slope and, before you know it, you’ll be soaring through the air. The route you take will change according to the actual weather on the day, ensuring that each trip is unique, special, and with the best views possible.
Soar over Reynisfjara black sand beach and see the Reynisdrangar basalt stacks towering above the furious waves of the ocean that surround them. From your birdlike vantage point, you will be able to see inland as well. From above it looks like a sea of mossy green with lava rocks dotted across its surface. In the summer, this already beautiful view decorates itself with purple lupine flowers while puffins and gulls take care of their nests in the cliffs below you.
Your entire flight will be recorded in HB video by your tandem pilot. During the booking process, you’ll be given the option to purchase the SD card package, which comes with a keepsake video of your journey so that you will never forget it.

Difficulty:
There might be some walking to and from the takeoff and landing points and you will be required to run briefly for around 20 meters when we are getting airborne and when we land. So if you think that you are fit enough to do that, you will have no problem enjoying your first paragliding experience. You just need to be able to take a few steps at takeoff and landing, and spend the rest of the time sitting comfortably in the harness. We can accommodate most people’s needs, so if you have any concerns, contact us to discuss before your flight.

Booking:
Our day tours are very popular and we have many days when all the available seats are booked out. Please book your tour early to avoid disappointment. You can book this tour online using the booking form or just call our office. We typically respond to phone calls from 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM GMT – if you do not reach us, please send an email and we will reply your message as soon as possible.
Prices:
All prices are per vehicle. We accept payment by major credit and debit cards with no additional fees. Gratuities are not included.
Tour itinerary changes:
At all times your safety is our first priority. You can expect any kind of weather in Iceland. For this reason, the tour itinerary may be subject to change the sights without notice or the tour might be canceled due to weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. If the timing changes, we will need your valid mobile phone number to contact you and inform you of the time change. Please don’t forget to fill out your phone number on the booking form. If the tour is canceled, you can choose to receive a full refund or to reschedule your tour for another day. We make every effort to avoid any such changes wherever possible.
What to bring:
Since the weather is unpredictable, always bring comfortable outdoor clothes, warm layers, with waterproof and windproof outer-layers. Jeans are not suitable clothing; waterproof jacket and shoes and a warm sweater are highly recommended. Make sure you have some water and windproof top layer, thin gloves and a hat to go under your helmet. Footwear is also very important as you will need good ankle support to avoid injuries during takeoff and landing. Hiking boots are a good solution, avoid trainers or any other shoes with slippery soles. Bring some snack or packed lunch. Bring your personal daily medications if required.
