Your adventure will begin in Reykjavík, where your guide will pick you up at your hotel or a nearby pick-up point. You’ll climb aboard a modified Super jeep, equipped with free Wi-Fi for your convenience. Leaving the city’s lights behind, you’ll journey into the vast darkness of the Icelandic countryside in search of the magical Northern Lights. The exact location of your excursion will be carefully chosen based on real-time cloud cover and the Northern Lights forecast, ensuring optimal viewing conditions and a more secluded experience, far from the usual stops made by other tour companies.
To enhance your experience, this tour takes you to remote, off-the-beaten-path locations that large tour buses simply can’t access, offering you a more intimate and exclusive adventure. Throughout the journey, your expert guide will share fascinating insights into the science behind the Northern Lights and captivating stories and mythical folklore about Iceland and the Aurora Borealis. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about this extraordinary natural phenomenon.
As the night unfolds and temperatures drop, you’ll be treated to a warm cup of hot chocolate to keep you cosy under the starlit sky. Your guide will also help you capture a memorable photo of yourself beneath the shimmering Northern Lights, perfect for keeping this magical memory alive.
After a few hours of chasing the Northern Lights, your guide will drive you back to Reykjavík, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, concluding your incredible night of discovery.
We only operate the tour when the forecast is promising. We carefully monitor the weather and Northern Lights forecast to ensure the best possible chance of success. If conditions are not favourable for spotting the Aurora, we will notify you via email the day before your tour. In this case, you’ll have the option to either reschedule free of charge or receive a full refund.
We operate the tour only when the forecast shows truly favourable conditions, but it’s important to note that we cannot guarantee a sighting. Even with the best predictions, the Northern Lights remain unpredictable, as they are a natural phenomenon beyond our control. If the forecast is good but we don’t spot the lights during the tour, we offer you the opportunity to rebook a standard (bus) Northern Lights tour at no additional cost. You can reschedule this as many times as necessary until you eventually witness the magical display.
The following is important information applicable to this tour. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or phone; we are here to make your tour exceptional.
The Northern Lights are natural phenomena that are difficult to predict, and we unfortunately cannot guarantee you will see them. Their appearance depends upon atmospheric and weather conditions. Our guides do everything they can to ensure you see the lights.

Tour itinerary changes and cancellation:
As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and this tour is heavily weather-dependent, we cannot guarantee that sightings will occur. We know your time is valuable, and we want you to get the most out of your stay in Iceland. Our overall sighting rate is over 90%.
In case of poor conditions or a bad forecast, we won’t take you out in vain. We reserve the right to cancel the tour and will provide a full refund if that happens. We will let you know that the tour has been cancelled by email no later than 6 pm on the tour day. If the tour is cancelled, you can choose to receive a full refund or to reschedule your tour for another day.
A refund is not available if the Northern Lights tour goes ahead and no Northern Lights are seen, but we do offer you the chance to join a Northern Lights standard bus tour free of charge.
What to bring:
Since the weather is unpredictable, bring comfortable and warm outdoor clothes with waterproof and windproof outer layers. An insulated parka or coat, warm boots, warm sweaters, hats, and gloves are highly recommended. It’s best to wear waterproof boots. Dress warmly; there are no such things as too many layers of clothes on Northern Lights tours. Bring your daily medications if required.
