Itinerary

This glacier lagoon kayaking tour is suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers.

Meet your group at Hotel Smyrlabjörg car parking at least 20 minutes before tour departure.

Your friendly guide will provide you with a drysuit, life vest, and shoes, then you are ready for your incredible glacier lagoon kayaking tour. You’ll use very stable and secure sit-on-top kayaks, which are suitable for first-time kayakers.

You will spend about 1 hour exploring the glacier lagoon. Your guide will tell you about the area’s incredible history and culture. As you paddle across the calm, deep waters of the lagoon, you’ll probably see many seals. These adorable creatures call Jökulsárlón home, and they can often be seen playing in the water or sunbathing on the icebergs.

Exploring Heinabergslón from a kayak is truly out of this world – seeing it on the mirror-like surface of the ice lagoon is incredibly amazing. No visitor to Iceland should miss out on this incredible opportunity.
