Itinerary

Embark on a private and unforgettable journey along Iceland’s dramatic South Coast in our custom-modified all-terrain vehicle for comfort and adventure. This tour promises an intimate and exhilarating experience led by our expert guide.

The adventure begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Reykjavík. We’ll then begin our journey along the epic South Coast, immersing ourselves in the finest views Iceland has to offer. Our route takes us past tranquil farmlands and vast expanses of moss-covered lava fields, a testament to Iceland’s unique natural beauty. We’ll drive through picturesque small towns set against the backdrop of dramatic mountains. Weather permitting, we’ll also enjoy spectacular views of glaciers and volcanoes, such as Hekla and the infamous Eyjafjallajökull, adding to the diverse and awe-inspiring scenery that makes this part of Iceland so unique.

On this tour, we’ll make stops to visit two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. First, the enchanting Seljalandsfoss, where water cascades 60 meters (196 feet) into a tranquil pool, offering a unique opportunity to walk behind the waterfall for stunning views and photos, conditions permitting. Next, the tour takes you to Skógafoss, a much wider and equally magnificent waterfall with a 60-meter (196-foot) drop. The power of Skógafoss creates rainbows in the mist, adding to the magical spectacle. For the adventurous, there’s the option to climb a 527-step staircase for a stunning view over Iceland’s southern coastline.

The journey continues off the beaten path to an extensive black sandy plain. While most tours visit the crowded Reynisfjara beach, we will instead go to a secluded location where you can feel the ultimate remoteness and serenity without having to share the experience with the crowds.

Next is an adventure that is an optional extra addition to this tour: an exploration of the Myrdalsjökull glacier, the fourth-largest ice cap in Iceland, covering the active Katla volcano. This optional extra is highly recommended for an enhanced experience. Please note that passengers interested in this addition must pay an entrance fee to access the ice cave (bookable along this tour in our booking widget).

The Super Jeep, built for rugged terrains, takes you across the glacier’s landscape, showcasing a world where ice and sky merge in a dance of shimmering blues and whites. This part of the journey provides a firsthand look at the dynamic and ever-changing environment of the glacier, marked by ash layers and meltwater channels.

Concluding the tour, guests will carry memories of Iceland’s extraordinary landscapes, from the thundering waterfalls to the serene black sand beaches and the majestic glacier. This private tour offers a unique and personal journey into the heart of Iceland’s natural wonders, with the ice cave as an exciting additional option for those seeking further exploration.
