One of the most beautiful valleys in Iceland, Þórsmörk lies in the middle of three glaciers: Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and Tindfjallajökull. These silent icy bodyguards make the valley very difficult to reach. For that reason, your skilled guide will pick you up in Reykjavík in a specially-modified Superjeep. You will then go on an exhilarating ride across the Highlands, through rivers and over bumpy paths.

It should go without saying that there will be many photo stops along the way to allow you to truly appreciate the beauty of this wild land. One special stop will take place on the way to Thorsmork, at the roots of the Gígjökull glacier. Here you will be able to see firsthand the true impact of the world-famous Eyjafjallajökull eruption of 2010 as well as a beautiful frozen river of lava.

The guides for this tour are professionals who know the valley like the back of their own hand. They have been operating Superjeep and hiking tours in Thorsmörk for years, which means that they know exactly where the best hiking paths are, based on the actual weather conditions on the day of your tour.

Beautiful rivers, verdant vegetation, stunning waterfalls, dramatic canyons – all of this awaits you, and more. You will spend your day traveling around this landscape which could have been taken directly out of a fairytale. To add to the perfection, there will be exceptional views of glaciers along the way as well.

Not only do they know the valley, but your guides are also passionate about Iceland. They love nature and are sure to entertain you with the folklore, history, and geology of the region. At the end of the tour, they will take you back to Reykjavík so that you can relax and prepare yourself for your next Icelandic adventure.

This one-day hike is designed for both experienced hikers as well as for the whole family.
