This guided, one-hour snowmobile adventure is perfect for those who have their own transportation and want to top off the Golden Circle with something unique and exhilarating. A great choice if you are looking for a scenic, fun and comfortable ride on a glacier and want to explore the wilderness and the breathtaking view over the Langjokull glacier area and nearby mountains.
Pick up at Skjól Campsite Parking
Your adventure starts at Skjól Campsite car parking, located on the Golden Circle, where you will be picked up by one of our driver guides. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour departure.
Super truck transfer to the snowmobile base
Our journey continues towards the snowmobile base camp at Langjökull, Europe’s second-largest glacier. Riding in our modified super jeep on a glacier is a fun and exciting experience in itself.
Once you reach our base camp we will get you registered for your snowmobile tour and your guides will provide you with all the equipment that you need for an exciting 1-hour snowmobile ride.
Most of our guests are first-time snowmobilers so you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing and instruction on how to drive your snowmobile safely and confidently. Snowmobiles are very easy to drive – you will learn all you need to know in a few minutes.
Hitting the trail
After some practice driving at our base area, your guide will lead you up a snowmobile trail through the ice cap for a fantastic adventure.
Midway through the ride, we will make a stop to take in the view. If you are lucky enough to have clear weather, you will have a spectacular view of the glacier and the surrounding mountains.
You are welcome to bring your camera to record your snowmobile adventure. Feel free to ask your guide to take photos and videos of you and your family or friends – we are happy to oblige. You will have enough time to enjoy the view and take good pictures without haste. You will also have the opportunity to switch seats for the return trip to the base camp.
After taking photos and enjoying the view, you’ll hop back onto your snowmobile and shoot back down the glacier to the base camp. We will drop you off at the same location where you boarded the super jeep.

What to bring:
Since the weather is unpredictable, always bring comfortable outdoor clothes, warm layers, with waterproof and windproof outer-layers. You or your passenger can wear a small backpack or a camera bag while riding. Please ensure all zips, straps, and flaps are secured when your snowmobile is in motion. Bring some snack or packed lunch. Bring your personal daily medications if required – please let us know of any allergies or medical conditions that you may require assistance with.
Persons with recent surgery, back injuries or who are pregnant are not recommended to participate in the snowmobile tours. Please contact us if you have any questions.
