Itinerary

Your local guide will meet you in Reykjavík, where you’ll be picked up in your own private SUV, This intimate adventure is designed with small groups in mind, so that you can explore the beauty of Iceland with friends instead of with complete strangers. If your group is larger than five people, don’t worry, there is always the opportunity to book a larger vehicle if need be.

We’ll start by heading towards Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that has earned its fame for the cave which formed naturally behind the cascading water. During the summer, you can walk behind the curtain and see the waterfall from the inside!

Continuing on, we will go to the village of Vík on the South Coast. Along the way, we’ll stop at the popular and scenic Reynisfjara black sand beach. You have to be careful here, as the tide is strong enough to carry you out into the Atlantic without warning. So, never turn your back on the water here. The sight of the thundering waves falling heavily on the beach and crashing against the spooky Reynisdrangar sea stacks is seriously impressive.

The Dyrhólaey Promontory is the site where the North Atlantic puffin tends to nest in the summer months. Large numbers of these cute birds settle down here, making this another interesting stop to take on the tour. The South Coast offers a large number of attractions of various types. Since this is a private tour, additional stops can be made en route, depending on the remaining time and the weather conditions.

Skógafoss waterfall is the final scheduled stop on the tour. This giant cascade stretches over 25 meters (82 feet) with falls that drop 60 meters (200 feet). This beautiful waterfall lies right between Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers.

During booking, you can sign up for an adrenaline-pumping adventure on those glorious ice caps. Among the options offered are a snowmobiling trip, an ATV buggy ride, a guided glacier hike, a kayak trip by the glacier, horseback riding, and a lava cave tour. With so many options, there is sure to be something to suit your tastes.

At long last, we’ll return to Reykjavík after a day spent enjoying the beauty of nature and the thrill of adventure. The memories made and the photos taken during this tour are sure to last for a lifetime.

No matter what you decide, this is an experience that you don’t want to miss out on. A scenic day full of sightseeing along the amazing South Coast of Iceland is wonderful enough on its own but with the extra excursions on an ATV, snowmobile, or hiking you can finetune this tour to be everything you have hoped for.

Please note that this itinerary is subject to both the weather and the road conditions. If you choose to book the tour in winter, there are very limited daylight hours in Iceland, so some of the sights will have to be visited in dusk, darkness, or skipped altogether. While we’ll try our best to avoid such occurrences, please be understanding if we are forced to make any alterations to the itinerary.
