Tour details

We have combined two Iceland highlights in one amazing trip; northern lights & glacier hiking.

We depart Reykjavik at noon and head east, where Solheimajokull glacier is first on the agenda. We drive along the magnificent south coast for about 2 hours, making one stop midway where you can buy snacks and use rest-rooms. We arrive at the Solheimajokull parking lot where we gear up and start the hike to the glacier; explore and discover the magic of water in frozen form. We spend the day hiking through the glacier, exploring crevasses and swell holes. After about 2 hours on the ice, we make our way back to the parking lot. From there we have a 15min drive to Skogarfoss waterfall where we will have a traditional two-course meal with a magnificent view of the waterfall from the restaurant. After a warming meal, we will spend the rest of the evening hunting down the spectacles of the northern lights as we make our way back to Reykjavik. We drive out from Skogar towards the best area to see the northern lights show & enjoy the spectacular sights for a while before we drive you back to your accommodation. Expect to be back at your hotel no later than midnight.
