Experience how the ice caps are melting, from the inside out, as you walk into the glacier.

If you don’t have a rental car, you can also join this tour from Reykjavik. Just make sure to select the right tab in the booking engine.

This is not your average tour. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, which will enable you to walk into the glacier, deeper than you ever have before. The glacier in question is the giant 953sq/km Langjokull.

Ride in our specially modified glacier trucks and bear witness to global warming, from the inside out. There is nothing quite like Into the glacier on a world scale, although there are a few man made ice caves out there. Never before has anybody been able to see the blue ice in the heart of an ice cap glacier.

Summer season (June-Sept)

Daily departures from Klaki base camp, by the glacier edge.

Shuttle service available from Husafell, upon request only.

Please arrive at the base camp no later than 15 minutes prior to your tour departure.

Winter season (Oct-May)

Daily departures from Husafell geothermal swimming pool.

Please arrive at the geothermal pool, no later than 30 minutes prior to your tour departure. The shuttle will leave promptly and will not wait for late arrivals.

The total duration of the tour may vary, according to weather and road conditions.

Would you rather visit a natural ice cave (winter only) or perhaps a lava cave? Then check these out:

winter; 4-5 hours
summer; 2-3 hours
all year
Transport in a specially modified glacier vehicle on Langjökull glacier, entrance to the cave, English speaking guide.
Bring with you:
Warm clothing is mandatory (even in summer)! Reccommended clothing include waterproof shoes, warm socks, wool/fleece base layer, warm mid layer and waterproof outer layer. Hat & gloves, even sunglasses, are reccommended.

Good to know before the tour:
Jeans are not suitable clothing; it is very cold inside the glacier, even on warm summer days.

Please give yourself at least 2,5 hours to drive from Reykjavík to Húsafell.

PLEASE NOTE: Kaldidalur road is a highland road, only accessible in summer. Rental cars are most often not allowed on this road. Check this before you choose your route.

You can expect any kind of weather in Iceland, and your caving tour might be cancelled with short notice due to weather. Your safety is our number one priority!

This tour can change depending on weather conditions, so this tour needs to be flexible. We are concerned about your safety.

Get ready for the action and don’t forget your camera!
