On this once-in-a-lifetime tour you will experience a unique ice cave in Vatnajokull glacier, Iceland’s largest ice cap. This tour is suitable for those who want to visit a more isolated ice cave, which is more difficult to access. The level of this tour is moderate to hard, so it is not recommended for people in poor physical shape or those who are afraid of heights.
The Blue Ice Cave Adventure is guaranteed in small groups and is always guided by a glacier expert and ice cave specialist. Driving to location can take 25-30 minutes from our base and the walk to the ice cave itself can take anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the group. We spend approximately 1 hour in the cave itself, which gives you great photo opportunities and a truly unforgettable experience!
The tour can take between 4 and 6 hours, all depending on the conditions and weather.
We provide you with all the necessary gear to walk on the glacier, including crampons, harness and helmet. Just make sure to wear warm and water proof clothing and good hiking shoes with ankle support.
Disclaimer: All glacier trips are undertaken at the responsibility of participants. Activity Iceland and Glacier Adventure do not assume any responsibility for accidents which are caused by customers or can be traced to their own actions.
